Entropy & Order

Architecture must contend with entropy—not to deny it, but to shape its effects. Entropy is not just a thermodynamic state;

it is the tendency toward disorder in material, space, and meaning. Order is how we temporarily resist it.

entropy and order are design tools. We structure sequences of space to orient, calm, or clarify.

We also embrace material weathering, acoustic decay, or energetic dispersal as indicators of time and transition.

Entropy reminds us that architecture is never static. It is always in negotiation with the second law.
